About Our Local Office

As I watched my mother put my father into a nursing home in 2004 many thoughts went through my mind.  I knew that if he had a reliable care giving service coming into their home to help with the care that he needed as well as provide my mother with the respite service she needed he wouldn’t have to be in that nursing home facility.  Frustrated that I could not do more I watched his health slowly deteriorate in the facility along with his beautiful spirit.  In the fall of 2006 my father was dying.  My wife and I had just welcomed our 3^rd child, Sean.  This baby was a special miracle for us, as the Lord blessed him with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome).  We were well aware at that time that we had been sent something very special with the lives of our three children and that the Holy Spirit had something wonderful planned for us.  To this day I am not certain what exactly changed for me in the weeks and months that followed but something was very different in the way I viewed all humankind and the preciousness of each and every life that God creates.

My father died two months after our sons birth and just weeks before the planned surgery to fix his congenital heart defect.  The time that we were able to spend at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, NE during Sean’s surgery and recovery allowed me to sort through where I was in my life and what my heart was really looking for. 

I had been employed in the medical area since completing my secondary education.  I struggled in my full time occupation with determining whether what I was doing in my work really made a difference at the next day’s sunrise.  I desired and needed something that I really felt made a difference and that I could feel good about.  I continued with my work and had the satisfaction of a job well done but certainly lacked meaning and personal reward.  By the end of 2007 I had made a decision.  Through much prayer and continuous listening for an answer and guidance, I decided that I needed to follow what my heart had been waiting for and I had been seeking.  With the support of my wife, family and friends, I left the corporate scene.  This allowed me to focus my time and energy on fulfilling my passion to care for others while I respect and cherish each life that our Lord has created.

Operations Manager

With a Business degree from Doane College in Lincoln and nearly eight years in banking Kristin brings extensive expeirence to function as Operations Manager. Kristin oversees the daily operations of the office. She is also responsible for the screening, hiring, orientaion and ongoing training for our caregivers. Kristin enjoys meeting people with the passion to care for those in need. 

The Lincoln Office of Right at Home is a locally owned and operated franchise office of Right at Home Inc., a senior home care and staffing company providing care since 1995. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. We do that by providing high quality in-home caregivers to serve you.
